About Me

Hi! I'm Owen Matejka — a Computer Science and Engineering graduate from Santa Clara University, now working as a System Engineer at Supermicro deploying some of the world's most advanced AI infrastructure.

I specialize in hyperscale AI clusters: GB300/GB200 NVL72 systems, direct liquid cooling, and high-speed fabric bring-up. I've led deployments across four continents for hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, and bare-metal cloud operators — including xAI's Colossus 2 program.

When I'm not busy building data centers, you can find me carving down the slopes, hiking the hills around the Bay, or finding something new to learn about.

Supermicro Computer Inc — San Jose, CA

June 2025 – Present

Onsite technical project lead for hyperscale AI cluster deployments worldwide. Lead cross-functional teams of 50–150+ across cabling, liquid cooling, integration, test, and service for GB300/GB200 NVL72 systems. Develop Python and Bash automation reducing manual deployment tasks by up to 90%.

Led 1,000+ GB300 racks across four data center halls on an aggressive 4-month timeline within a multi-billion dollar program.

Acting onsite engineering lead for a frontier AI lab, managing a team of 50 integration technicians, cablers, and liquid cooling engineers.

June 2024 – June 2025

Provided onsite IT support across 15 departments and 30+ IDFs at California's Great America. Built an IT asset-management system (React, React Native, Express) and a PowerShell tool auditing Active Directory membership for geofencing compliance.
